About Alder Miller

Aldermiller Optical was founded on a simple conviction: that prescription eyewear should be made well, priced fairly, and delivered with the kind of care that only comes from people who take their work personally.

The company was built by Kevin Dinh and Dr. Jeanette Pham, O.D. — an entrepreneur and an optometrist who shared a belief that the online optical experience had never fully delivered on its promise. Too many retailers treated the prescription as a formality and the frame as a commodity. Kevin and Jeanette set out to do something different.

The name Aldermiller draws from two deep sources. The alder tree is among nature's most resilient species — one of the first to return after devastation, renowned for its ability to enrich the ground it grows in. The miller is the craftsperson who transforms raw materials through patience and skill into something that sustains. Together, they describe exactly what this company aspires to be: durable, generative, and made with intention.

Dr. Pham passed away in February 2025. Aldermiller carries her clinical standards and her commitment to patient-centered care into every order it fulfills. Kevin Dinh continues the company she helped build, with the long-term vision of passing it to their family — a business built not just to last, but to mean something.

Aldermiller is based in Tacoma, Washington, and ships prescription eyewear across the United States.
